  • The MCA requires UK Red Ensign Group flagged vessels operating or intending to operate for commercial use or charter (skippered or bareboat) to comply with the Small Commercial Vessel Code (MGN 280).

    This is known as MCA Coding and must be carried out by an authorized surveyor on behalf of a Certifying Authority.    

    Jamil Vanterpool is authorized by the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) Certifying Authority to conduct these surveys.

    We also inspect for Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 Small Vessel Inspection compliance.

  • The Maritime Labor Convention, 2006 (MLC) established minimum working and living standards for seafarers.

    The MCA requires UK Red Ensign Group flagged Small Commercial Vessels (MGN 280), operating on International Voyages to comply with the MLC requirements.

    We have an approved MLC inspector and can undertake these inspections through the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) Certifying Authority.
