LEAD SURVEYOR

JAMIL VANTERPOOL

Jamil was raised in the British Virgin Islands and grew up operating his Dad’s cargo/fishing vessels from a very young age. Driven by his passion for boating, Jamil attended the PMT course Chapman School of Seamanship and graduated As the Valedictorian and received his USCG 100 ton license. Jamil is also a 2011 Graduate of the SUNY Maritime College with a BSc. Marine Transportation (Distinction) and holds a USCG 3rd Mates Unlimited Tonnage license.

Early in his career, Jamil operated passenger and cargo vessels between the BVI and USVI. Later, he would work as an inspector with the BVI Shipping Registry inspecting vessels for compliance with the MCA Codes of Practice and the Caribbean SCV Code. Jamil also gained qualifications and experience as an ISM/ISPS Lead auditor and USCG T-boat inspections.

In, 2013 Jamil expanded his marine surveying career by providing pre-purchase surveys and consultations to customers.

Now, With over 20 year’s experience in the Marine industry, Jamil brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Vanterpool Marine Surveys and is committed to providing a reliable and professional service to clients.

MARK VANTERPOOL

Mark Vanterpool specializes in Damage and Structural Integrity Surveys, Engine and Systems Assessments, and is a highly valuable team member at Vanterpool Marine Surveys.

He is passionate about the structural integrity of fiberglass vessels. In 2011, Mark began his career as a fiberglass apprentice and very quickly excelled in the trade.

Today, he has his own business and, performs extensive fiberglass repairs including replacing transoms, stringers, bulkheads, and decks.

Mark is a 2015 graduate of MMI and holds an Associates Degree in Marine Technology.
